albertwang Posted September 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2006 Absolutely beautiful images. Attractive woman + attractive camera = classic imagery.
vic vic Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 2, 2006 thanks albert - i really like them too. have more serious images made with the mp and the provia film slide, but have to develop it first - was lazy yesterday after back home. we had some paintings and fixings in her new appartment and moving stuff to there. she is not a pro model but a very good friend of mine and i realy love photographing her. she is about to finish her academic architecture studies soon and well educated in the field of art as well. so we have alot in common additionally (besides being attractive) :-))
Sandokan Posted September 2, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 2, 2006 I object strongly to the naked images. Put a lens on that camera! Good shots and I like the use of the reflection in the mirror to give eye contact.
vic vic Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted September 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) ha ha ha ravindar :-) your objections was not accapted :-))))) actually, i may have put a lnes on it in some of the photos but my vintage leitz 90mm was not with me and the moderns look too proffessional and too hi-tech engennered for that :-) and besides - isnt the mp camera a beauty in itself - nude?!!! thanks alot for your comment :-)
albertwang Posted September 2, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 2, 2006 I am jealous. If architects were as attractive there as much as in the US, I think that it's time for me to live over there! At first, I thought that the mp without lens was a little odd but realized that the illusory "lens" made up for it. It became a more symbolic gesture in my own opinion nevertheless. Kinda Ralph Gibsonish in its own way. Which suggest the whimsical universalities of a Nabokovian pen? The MP wins in its own way. Next up could be a naked iPod for sure. Or MP with iPod. Guest agnoo Posted September 2, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 2, 2006 Sorry to say that: This is just naked - nothing more. Poor light, partly wrong cropping, bad colors. some thoughts ... i like the curl on the cheek in the one picture, with better light and in black & white this would make a fine 20´s-style picture ... ... the second kitchen shot is good and her real good acting (she has talent!) allows better shots ... ... my 2cents p.s. saw your webpage, I know you can do better
vic vic Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted September 2, 2006 hi albert and ron @ albert.. ha ha, not all architcts in israek are attractive :-))))) about your comment of the subject exposition etc... ya - it makes it less banall indeed. and ya - theres is some symbolism in it if u want to read it that way. about, bibson photography, i think i have mentioned and admited more than once, that gibson is very important for me and i admit that it can clearly be seen in some of my photos. i cannot avoid his influence, and i love him so much that i have no wish to avoid it some times :-))))) about "nobakovian pen"... u mean as a matter of subject exploration possibilities??? @ron.... oh, no sorries here, it is your full rite not to like those photos, and as soon as your critique is constructive it is not less well comed for me than good words. and ya, indeed, the burderies between what u say about those particualr photos and what i feel about them are very thin, for sure. so, one can take it one one side and the other on the other side of the bunderies. it was my wish to go with the exiting lite and the feeling it radiated, i love this kind of things sometimes. but with the same sucess u can say tat the lighting is not creative here. so is about color and "naked" too. so, i do appriciate hat u point it out, even if i dont agree with u. ah.. what "better"... website or those photos??? Sandokan Posted September 2, 2006 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2006 Hey Vic, I prefer the all black MP, but when I get my black M6TTL - LHSA version, I will try the same as you have here :-) Finding a model as interesting as yours is, will be hard - she has a "character" or coolness that comes through. I agree that with a reflector or additional light, you could have done better on some shots, but these look more like a series of shots to learn from. Other shots here work very well IMHO. To one day be like Gibson would be ideal and the ultimate would be to setup shots which look like snaps - but perfect in all ways of light, content, exposure. Anyway, today I have my first attempt at portraiture for an amateur dramatics company and I am nervous... @Albert - some of the architects working at Fosters in London are far too attractive :-) I still wish I hadnt been married when I was there.... vic vic Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted September 2, 2006 ha - ravindar, i also wanted the all back mp, but when i bought this one about 1.5years, there was in stock only silver 0,85 mp camera. i shoudl have wait alot to the balck one. but i love it anyway, u know from where i see the camera it doesnt really matters actaully:-)))) ha ha... i have commented to u about gibson in the other thread (wedding). ya - it is not perfect neither it is a serious photo session. weve been just tired from the whole day, so just a few snaps with my little dluux22. dont take me wrong - i dont present those photis as masterpeices :-))) just funny photo that i love very much :-) oh - dont be nervous - not at all. go ahead and do what u want, be quite if u have some primery ideas - steack to them by all means, and if ptherwise - than just react to what u see... this is my advise, no worries :-))))
Guest hagen Posted September 2, 2006 Share #13 Posted September 2, 2006 The idea is not so bad but something is missing. I would prefer a naked woman playing around with a MP with an adapted lens.
uulrich Posted September 2, 2006 Share #14 Posted September 2, 2006 Hi Viktor; :-) I like the way how you photograph, without any boundaries I might add (no pun intended). You photographs shows that there is one rule - There is no rule. I enjoyed looking at your work and I have been easily able to figure out you're a serious freelancer who can unconventionally use his camera. Your work can be inspiring for others and I look forward to see more of your photographs to come across.
albertwang Posted September 2, 2006 Share #15 Posted September 2, 2006 Nabokovian pen = a element of playfulness. In fact, there is a reason why I like the mp without a lens. With a lens, it suggests a phallic symbol. Without a lens, it suggest a vaginal image instead. The masculine versus feminine. So point your finger at me for overinterpreting. But sorry, that's the mental understanding I have of vic vic's intention behind the mp without lens.
vic vic Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #16 Posted September 2, 2006 thanks wolfgang, uwe and albert.. uwe - your words are really inspiring for me and encouraging, special thanks:-) i appriciate it very much that u and others forum members enjoy my pposts. albert u just hit the point like snaiper here :-))) 1. the mp camera as "nude leica mp" is one of my repeating motives. call it symbols too if u want. u wil see it more and more when i will upload my web-site. 2. it is enough to see the second photograph in the first post of this thread, where the lady plays with her fingers with the bayonet of the camera... yes, u r rite about what u say :-)))) 3. i have previous works (in b/w) of mp camera with the vintage leitz 90mm and women. do u know how this lens looks like (the vintage pre-war verssion) ???? this is the oposite of the lens-less camera for this particular issue we talk about :-))) so ya, nobakovi pen - indeed, if u want to look at it like that. i took your words to different direction for a moment, but u hit the target :-)))))
