leica dream Posted February 1, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I collected my V-Lux1 there was a Leica 512mb card with it and in the viewfinder was displayed the number of shots available to me. I changed that card for a Scandisk 2gb card and now there is no count of shots showing. I cannot find any instruction to show/hide such a count. Have I missed something or is the scandisk card not compatible? Anyone else noticed this feature. Richard
Advertisement Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Hi leica dream, Take a look here V-Lux1 exposure counter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted February 1, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2008 Mine seems to give a count whatever card I use, up to 4mB. I do not know of a way of switching this off. Have you tried altering the "quality" setting; try setting to RAW, Hi-jpg and lo-jpg, see if this makes a difference.
leica dream Posted February 2, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted February 2, 2008 Thanks for that, Pete. I have tried all three. I get a count with RAW but not with standard or low. Same thing happens with the tiny 512mb card too. Anybody else got an idea? Richard
@bumac Posted February 2, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2008 format the card in the camera.

ho_co Posted February 2, 2008 Share #6 Posted February 2, 2008 There's no way AFAIK to tell the camera to keep quiet about how much space is free on a card. Try the 512 Mb card again and see if it still displays a number remaining. Cameras from some manufacturers will default to a number like "9999" when there is more room available than the camera can display. Perhaps it will begin displaying after you've filled half the card or so. But if Pete says his camera displays a value for all card sizes, there may be a problem with your camera. Check with Customer Service or Leica Technical. Good luck! --HC
leica dream Posted February 3, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted February 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Howard. I have tried both cards and they both act the same.......Outstanding exposures for RAW but nothing for anything else. I have raised the problem with Leica Technical Support so shall see what they say. When I get a result which solves the problem I'll post it here.
