dugby Posted January 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had any experience with the Leica R 35mm f1.4 on their D3 or L1 ? This lens facinates me, and I'm thinking this could be an alternative to a D 25mm f1.4..... Anyone with sample shots ? Riley Posted January 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 22, 2008 ive never seen it, might be worthwhile ive always fancied the Nocton 35/1.2, which is an impossible fit fwiw check out these Leica 50/1.4 on an E330 Lympa Log Leica Olympus E-330 Amy at Arkley Gary Todoroff and a comparison Lympa Log Leica Olympus 50mm Summilux-R Zuiko 50mm f1.4 Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8 what about a 90mm Summicron on a
spylaw4 Posted January 22, 2008 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2008 I've just got hold of an R 'cron 90mm - looking forward to the results on the L1! In the hand it feels heavier than the kit 14-50 tho' ! That combo of 330 + 90 looks fairly compact - but maybe 180mm effective is a bit long a focal length for average purposes. Oh for a wider prime! (11 or 12mm)
erlin1 Posted January 23, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2008 I haven't tried the 35mm, but I have purchased a 60mm Elmarit R and a 135mm Elmarit R. I have used both lenses with the Digilux 3. Here are a couple of samples as well as links to flickr pictures for both lenses. 60mm Elmarit R set 60mm Elmarit R - a photoset on Flickr 135mm Elmarit R set 135mm Elmarit R - a photoset on Flickr Flickr Photo Download: Yellow tulip L1050880.JPG
dugby Posted January 23, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted January 23, 2008 Brian and Ernesto, Thankyou for directing me to those superb photos. They are a shining example of what the D2 and L1 and D3 are very capable of. Well done My reading of this forum and other Leica sites suggests there is some symbiotic relationship between both Summiluxes, 35 f1.4 and 80mm f1.4 I found this site of a Leica images <http://www.thechinaphoto.com/html/67/n-67.html> and also these link for Summilux 35mm f1.4 <http://rlfc.world.coocan.jp/Galleryfiles/R_Sample/Summilux35/Summilux35.html> Summilux 80mm f1.4 <http://rlfc.world.coocan.jp/Galleryfiles/R_Sample/Summilux80/80mm1.4_1.html>
