...continuation of my thread "architecture"

I have just found these series of Montlhery in black and white film, a car race on the occasion of the circuit anniversary.

I don't know the mark of these cars but I think they are british cars because the steering wheel is on the right side.

If you know something about these cars please let me know ?

speed cars are above 130 km/h

LeicaflexSL with Elmarit135mm Ilford film (i forget the Asa may be 50)

Thanks for looking and comments

A Lotus Elan is leading in photo #1. The other two are either Lotus Super Sevens, or the newer variety made by Catterham, which is also the car in both #3 & #4. Notice how similar the Elan is to the Mazda MX6 (Miata in the US). I recognize the car in photo#2 but it won't come to me. Pete will know. Fun photos.

Doc,

Stuart is correct about the Lotus cars. Of the "vintage" (which means up to 1931 in the UK but something else in the US) cars, I think the first one is some sort of pastiche, the 1970s Wolfrace wheels being something of a giveaway. The second one looks to be a Mercedes and the last one is a Bentley modified for racing.

How long ago did you take these? Perhaps mid 1980s? Post some more if you have them. :)

Thanks for your comment and for the link

"....Perhaps mid 1980s?" Yes I think so ! Several times I was at Montlhery because it's near Paris. Auto-review test new cars here too, and it's very sensational when you see a race car rush in front of you, coming from the inclined running track(as you can see below in this picture) with a characteristic noise of the motor !

When the whole banking was used the cars went anticlockwise as per the photo of the World Record breaking Anglia and as in the film "Un Homme et Une Femme".

Henri - It looks like a 6 1/2 litre but I can't be sure. The Reg. No. doesn't appear on the Bentley lists so it's probably a French owned car.

because i see it's nice ....and very low for the road holding qualities with large chassis and wheels

These last three cars are also Bentleys, not however original sports models. They have been built from saloon (sedan) models, probably during the 1970s/80s when there was a fashion for this sort of kit car. Having looked back at the silver "vintage" car near the start of the thread, I think that also is a Bentley kit car. Not quite the done thing, old man, as they would say in the Bentley Drivers Club. :)
