wilfredo Posted January 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) A few months ago I made the leap to IMAC which I have really enjoyed except for a recent glitch. If I walk away from the computer say for ten minutes and it goes into what seems like sleep mode, when I wake it up I get this icon on the screen about a Blue Tooth Set-up and a message saying that the mouse can't be found (even though the mouse is plugged in and has not been removed). When that happens I can't do anything, nothing works, and I have to turn the IMAC off manually. I have no Blue Tooth gadgets I want to connect. Any ideas on how to prevent this problem? Thanks, Wilfredo Benitez-Rivera Photography
Advertisement Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Hi wilfredo, Take a look here IMAC Frustration. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nhmitchell Posted January 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2008 Yikes: That shouldn't be happening. you haven't given us much info (like what operating system you are using) but here's what I'd try first. Go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences... Look for the Bluetooth icon and click on it. Deselect "bluetooth power" and "discoverable". Hopefully that'll do it. If not...let me know and we'll go on to Plan B. Nick

wilfredo Posted January 14, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks Nick and Morgan, I will try this. I also just turned off the Blue Tooth devices since I don't use any. Wilfredo
Goldie Posted January 14, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2008 I too have had this problem, but I was using a wireless mouse. I got fed up and plugged in a mouse with a tail and switched off the Bluetooth network. So far, three weeks, no repeats of this freeze up. The shark's had its tooth pulled. I think this may be a bug in Leopard. I'll do no more puns.
