Also deleted MEV1 camera on the App with the same results. Any help appreciated. I have solved my. problem while reading through these forums The secret was to not only delete the camera's from the Fotos app but ALSO to 'Forget' the Bluetooth settings for the camera and then when ADDING them it all worked . All good now on with the new firmware.

You can also go into Customize Camera in the settings and remove all the things you don't want to appear in this list if you know they are things you'll never want to assign to a button. Thank you, I had forgotten that.

pathip Posted 5 hours ago Share #244 Posted 5 hours ago vor 23 Stunden schrieb pathip: After reading quite a bit and trying a few things, it looks like the solution is as simple as it is annoying—because it’s time-consuming. Reset the camera and set it up again from scratch. Probably the fix for a lot of the issues mentioned here. The problem I described only occurs in the custom profiles I created earlier and carried over. The default profile is not affected. So tonight I’ll probably have to bite the bullet and take the time to rebuild everything. Still better than wasting even more time chasing the root cause and relying on half-baked workarounds. Here‘s another problem I‘ve discovered: In my case, I updated the Q3 43. I was really excited about the announced new features and improvements—especially the autofocus improvements. However, I noticed that tracking people, faces, and eyes in combination with Continuous AF only works properly when using the camera’s rear display. As soon as I put my eye to the EVF, the AF starts to stutter, and in the viewfinder it looks like the AF is only tracking at around 2 FPS. As soon as I switch back to the rear display and track a person, everything works smoothly as butter again. Can anyone confirm this? Or does anyone have a tip on how to influence or fix this behavior?
Aram Langhans Posted 5 hours ago Share #245 Posted 5 hours ago WOW. this is an interesting read. I downloaded the new firmware a few days ago but have not had the time to install it. So, today I started to read the last two days of comments. I think I will pass on this one. I like my favorites. I don't want peaking in AF. I don't like change, so was a bit apprehensive of the new menu layout but thought what the heck, but with all the other issues being discussed, I am not in any hurry to aggravate myself. I would like faster boot time after along inactive period, but after some initial comments, not sure if this is a reality with 4.0. I would like better tracking, but there seems to be some issues with this, too. Thanks to all who have updated and commented. Very helpful.

Pelu2010 Posted 4 hours ago Share #247 Posted 4 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey, I tested the fw 4.0 this morning and I can say: well done > this is the state of camera I would have wished from the beginning. now I feel the af and I can react to it. previous fw the af was jumping around a lot. And there is more that I found very useful. 1. Startup time! Very good! Like it should be. Instant. (Pls make this on the M11 too) 2. wake up! Excellent 3. in play mode if you want to check the focus (zoomed into the image) > you can now by keeping the play button pressed and scrolling with the thumbwheel you can now jump from image to image while the zoom level is kept. Very helpfull. 4. in Video > you can now use the camera on a gimbal! Top. Camera will also remote the exposure. In photo/video. Only thing you can’t use and which would be helpfull is: if we could override the AF with the wheel of the gimbal that would be nice 👍 ( I us the rsc2) . I am invited to a party today. So I will test the rest at this event. But I like the feel of the camera very much. very good job dev team! if we could get that external trigger adapter for Timelapse I would be more than happy. cheers Peter
LocalHero1953 Posted 4 hours ago Share #248 Posted 4 hours ago No problem with freezes with the Q3 43 or SL3-S for me. Because basic menu functions had changed (in AF) I half anticipated problems with profiles that recorded old menu functions, so my first step was to re-save my old profiles. Perhaps this has let me off freezes. Switching between profiles is quick. Nor did I need to delete Bluetooth pairs in phone Settings; I just deleted the connected camera in Fotos and reconnected. I have used the Q3 43 for a couple of hours at a drama performance with no issues other than ignorance how AF was working: I hadn't thought through the changes properly, but I can see what Leica is trying to achieve now and will enjoy a bit more exploration today at a drama rehearsal with both cameras. viramati Posted 3 hours ago Share #249 Posted 3 hours ago I would suggest that all of us not happy wit the focus peaking in AF/MF, portrait in replay etc etc email Leica at the following address software-support@leica-camera.com Just complaining here is not enough
viramati Posted 3 hours ago Share #250 Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Strangely my new Q3M which came with firmware v3.9 already had the issues of focus peaking in AF/MF and no portrait mode in playback. It already had the new menu setup but v.4 has brought a few new tweaks that were not there in 3.9 I used to Beta test for Leica back when I was more into the system and was often taken back by some of the basic errors in firmware updates they were looking to release and found a couple of major issue back in the days of the M9 and M240 Edited 3 hours ago by viramati
Ad Dieleman Posted 2 hours ago Share #251 Posted 2 hours ago So far I have one niggle with the V4 update that I haven't seen anyone else noticing. Before V4, focus peaking was only active in manual focussing in magnified mode, which was brilliant and I didn't feel the need to be able to switch peaking on or off. Now peaking is active when it's switched on, in magnified mode or non-magnified mode. I hope this will be changed back to pre-V4 functionality. You'll need a few clicks or taps to change the mode and take a different type of photo. It's a bit archaic. Im not sure if this is what your after, but this is how I have set up my AF tracking. Focus mode: AFc AF mode: Zone/ multi-field ( I adjust the point to be the largest) AF Detection: human (eye/face/detect) When i use it like this, it has been spot on! Working now the way I like it. No more flicking between multiple subjects. Its sticky, and very reliable especially in good light. Night and day difference from previous firmware! Im enjoying the camera way more!

pjmimages Posted 1 hour ago Share #254 Posted 1 hour ago After initial problems in line with many mentioned here, I have now resolved most of them by deleting all my old profiles and starting over again. One thing I haven't solved is the inability to rotate Portrait images in playback so that they fill the screen. Has anyone else managed to solve this issue please? What I did find is that the default profile which has the image/file number showing on the playback screen is "Info Profile" #4 (under "Capture Assistants"). Even if I duplicated the settings that are listed as being "on "or "off" for "Info Profile" #4 to any of the 3 other slots, I could not get the image/file number to show up. I ended up just adjusted the settings in "Info Profile" #4 to what I wanted to see (both in the EVF when photographing and in in the playback LCD screen) then tuned a couple of other "Info Profile" slots to my liking and now can toggle through the screens I want to see both for photographing and playback. i did that too but without results for the numbering

It uses multi field within the zone box, which is fine for me. If I want a distant person with small face then I’d switch to field/spot. The Q was not good at distant faces originally anyway. I like what they’ve done for AF/Body - a definite improvement in functionality for me. I haven’t had a chance to test stickiness yet
LocalHero1953 Posted 1 hour ago Share #259 Posted 1 hour ago FWIW the SL3-S doesn’t have the same non-rotation of portrait images as the Q3 43 does, both with the new firmware. Looks like an omission - I can’t think of any possible reason for the difference.

I haven’t had a chance to test stickiness yet This is where things get tricky: you have to constantly change modes, and to do this on the Q3 43, you have to open a submenu using a dedicated button, and then press another button several times to select the desired value. On the vast majority of cameras, no special action is required.
