Expanding my digilux 3

I have had the digilux 3 three for six months now and am getting used to it at last. I still have some problems, but these are generally fixed with post production in lightroom. If I want to expand the range of the camera by using other lenses what would forum members recommend as a first add on lens. I take mainly mountain photos. I have read the forum and seen some posts about the 14-150mm Panaleica and the Olympus Zuiko Digital 50-200mm swd. Any thoughts are welcome.

A new Leica/Lumix 50-150mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS is promised for sometime this year, maybe there will be some news on it later this month at the PMA. I would think that lens would be light weight and optically superb, well suited for travel and mountain hiking. It would compliment your 14-50mm VE nicely.

Will this fit the digilux 3 without an adapter. What about working with internal flash. Any fitting problems perceived

w/o an adapter? Yes. No questions asked. That's what the Four Thirds standard is about.

Internal flash: Work it will (the 11-22 that is), whether the internal flash is wide enough to be actually useful I don't know. As far as the 7-14 is concerned, the internal flash is next to useless (unless you bounce it off the ceiling) as the lens is humongous and hence will provide a nice, clearly visible shadow ;)

Although it technically may "work" in bounce mode I think the internal flash won't be much use.

HTH.

Cheers

Yes it will fit and fully function without adapter.

The internal flash should work fine with the exception that if you are very close to the subject it may have a slight shadow.

I really hope so  . I am eagerly waiting for such a lens for upcoming travels.
