《As a jewelry designer and R3 user, I’m exploring the Leica Q system. How does the Q3 inspire your creative workflow?》

Hello everyone, nice to meet you here.
I am a jewelry designer based in London and have been using the Canon R3 mainly for travel, architecture and nightscape photography. Recently I’ve been thinking about adding the Leica Q3 to my creative workflow, especially for daily inspiration and street moments.

For those of you who use the Q3 or Q2, I’m curious about one thing:
How does the Q system influence your creativity or the way you see everyday life?

I’m less focused on technical specs and more interested in the emotional and artistic side of shooting with the Q.
Does it change how you compose?
Do you find yourself shooting differently with the fixed 28mm?
And what kind of scenes or light inspire you the most with this camera?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or see some of your favourite Q images.
Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

The 28mm is a wide lens and give a lot of room for cropping if this is desired, however composition is as with any other 28mm
Yes, i shoot differently, but that with all prime lenses. I use my feet to zoom, if i can't move i crop
I shoot what i find interesting independently what camera i use

Then the Q series is one of the best cameras, small, easy to stow snd conceal, weather proofed and has a awesome lens.
However there are other brands doing the same for less but it's not a Leica and their lens may be considered as inferior.
The weather proofing is a big plus for a everday carry or travel camera, but only Q2 and Q3 have that, the Q not.
I had the Q and find my Q2 far superior, the Q3 has some advantages for some photographers, for me they are not worth a upgrade.

However, there are photographers who dislike fixed lens cameras and/or dislike 28mm or 43mm, i prefer the 28mm.
As jaapv already mentioned, rent one for a few days and you will know before you make a expensive mistake.

Show me a hundred online pics from different photographers using the same camera (any brand/model), and the odds are that most I’d dismiss despite being technically sufficient, some would be dreadful, and a few might delight. Without knowing the camera/lens type in advance, I probably couldn’t guess. Show me some prints, from those who bothered, and the proportion of “winners” might modestly increase.  In any case, it’s the photographer, not the gear. I agree with those encouraging personal experience to help assess; we’re all different, thankfully.
