viramati Posted December 11 Share #28 Posted December 11 Getting my head around it but have found no way as yet to have focus peaking only in MF which is odd 50 minutes ago, jonoslack said: The menu system is actually wonderful - but it does take some getting used to! Nice use of trees and shadows, but the opening photo is what does it for me. Love it. Looks like you found a good tool.

Looks like you found a good tool. Thank you. First foto was early in the morning with condensation outside the kitchen window. I had been using the Q2M for the last year and found it to be a great storytelling tool Edited December 11 by viramati
viramati Posted December 12 Share #32 Posted December 12 I went into central London to buy a Christmas present for my wife and experiment with some of my profiles that I'm working on. I was mostly interested in trying out the face/body detect AF system for street work and it is certainly a big step up from the Q2M but will take more time to refine a technique. Nowhere near the accuracy or speed of the my Sony A1ii but better than expected

I paused it many times to take a longer look at most of them. The focus is much better than your first day photos. Another great set. Great timing of facial expressions. I know when I attempt to take photos of groups of people interacting I never can get the facial expressions right. All kinds of strange expressions, open contorted mouths, half closed eyes, etc. These are great and show your talent.

Thank you. it is very early days in experimenting and getting to grips with the new focusing system for street photography. With the Q2M I nearly always used zone focusing at f8 set to around 2m so will be interesting to see if I can develop a fairly reliable method with the AF. I didn't expect anything like the AF on my Sony A1ii but all the same it is better than I expected and for single person portrait work appears to be more than adequate
