APO 35 f/2 cannot couple with M viewfinder

Hi Folks.

I was walking with Apo 35mm f2 on M11 today and found that the viewfinder does not work anymore, while the live view works well.

I received this lens a few weeks ago and barely use it. After getting back home, I did some tests:

1. M11 with Apo 35: not working

2. M11 with other M lenses: works perfectly.

3. M11-P with Apo 35: not working

4. M11-P with other M lenses: works perfectly

5. M11-bp with Apo 35: not working

6. M11-bp with other M lenses: works perfectly

It seems that the issue lies with the lens. I then noticed that the coupling cam doesn’t move in sync with the focus ring, so the rangefinder coupling arm isn’t being pushed correctly. Am I correct, or any other thoughts?

Does anyone know how long it typically takes to have this recalibrated? I've sent an email to Leica, hopefully they will come back to me soon.

Vor zwei Jahren hatte Ich auch mal das gleiche Problem mit diesem Objektiv. Es musste dann nach Wetzlar zur Reparatur, ohne Kosten weil noch Garantie bestand. Leider habe Ich dann drei Monate auf das Objektiv verzichten müssen.....Seitdem funktioniert es wieder einwandfrei.

That's so sad! I was planning to bring this lens to Japan for Christmas! But good to hear it's only 3months!

Das war 2023 !! Vielleicht haben sich die Bearbeitungszeiten mittlerweile verkürzt. In Wetzlar mal nachfragen.

Might be slower, you never know! I will check with them. Or I will just bring it to Japan first, take all the photos with live view(not ideal but not too bad!), then drop it off at Leica Kyoto Store 😅

Obvious, but just to be sure you refer to all distances, not close focus mode, which is not RF coupled.
