When I use my leica vlux 25-400mm lens in a wide aperture even without a lens hood I get a shadow in the upper and lower right hand corner. I tried to enable lens correction in the menu but my camera doesn't have that. I'm curious if anyone has an answer or can be of any help. It's really frustrating because when I look at the pictures on my laptop it's still there. _Internationalal Posted November 3 Author Share #3 Posted November 3 (edited) I took a picture with my phone of a photo of the issue on my laptop because it kept saying the file was to big when I tried uploading the original. You can clearly see the problem though. Sometimes that really dark bit thats all the way in the corner is bigger than in the example I showed. It happens like I said in my original comment even with no lens hood what so ever so I know it's not that and I have no filters on the lens either. In the 2nd image I uploaded you can see the lower right corner and how there's no shadow. Look directly under the 2nd icon from the left and you will see how there's a really dark bit and a lighter shadow. The dark bit is jammed all the way in the corner. If I use the 25mm it shows up in every corner and it sticks out even further into the photo. It completely ruins it. It's so mysterious and makes no sense. It's not one of the new v lux 5s but it's been happening ever since the camera was gifted to me in 2021. PhotoCruiser Posted November 3 Share #14 Posted November 3 (edited) I had this - but circular/in all 4 corners- on some underwater housings when lens was full retracted and obviously saw the border of the glass dome. Same as depending on aperture it got worst or became just a kind of a vignetting. My guess is thats the same problem and your lens is a bit slanted or got hit to deform it so only the upper right corner is on the photo, or something became loose inside the lens My historic Hector 135 had a black spot what drove me nuts as it moved around till i found out that it was the screw of the tripod tread on this lens in combination with a rotating L to LTM adapter. When i turn the lens in the correct position the black spot is not visible anymore. Then its what i wrote, the lens see something when all retracted in WA position and as you don't have anything in front of the lens its either that the lens is not perfectly straight or something became loose inside. Contact Leica and send them several photos on different zoom levels so that they see when it disappears or just get used to zoom a tiny bit in and the black thing disappears, that would be the cheapest solution.
