John Davison Posted October 26 Share #1 Posted October 26 Advertisement (gone after registration) When manual focussing with the D-Lux 8, a distance scale appears in the viewfinder (shown at “39” in the attached picture). The left part of that scale is marked in red. I can’t find any explanation for that red marking in the manual. Does anyone here know what that red portion of the scale indicates? Purely judging from the 'hills' pictogram at the left hand end and the 'flower' pictogram at the right hand end I would infer that the D-Lux 8 is manually focussed to near infinity with not a lot of depth of field since the aperture is at f/2.8. I must admit that with such a crowded and complicated screen as that, it would've got dark while I was trying to figure out what it all meant and I would've missed the shot anyway.
