LQZeus Posted 18 hours ago Share #1 Posted 18 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, I'm new with the Q3 and pondering if it is possible to do off-camera flash photography. Normally on other camera (e.g., Nikon, Canon, etc.), you would set the camera at its flash sync speed (e.g., 200, 250, etc.) and its native ISO where it would produce black screen without flash (i.e., you have control of the light). What is the flash sync speed and the native ISO for Q3? Thanks you!

Robert Ardinger Posted 16 hours ago Share #2 Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Base ISO seems to be 100, the camera has a leaf shutter and is not as limited to sync shutter speeds as a focal plane shutter. There are some issues noted in the instruction manual about radio controlled off camera flash: "Studio flash systems may have a very long flash firing duration. It may therefore be advantageous to select a slower shutter speed than 1⁄200 s when using such a system. The same applies for RF-controlled flash firing for so-called “off-camera” flashes, as the transmission time may cause a delay." You might find this thread useful.
