Hi all —

while I think I understand all menu functions of my SL2-S, I find one detail puzzling:

In Live View, the maximum number of pictures that I can take with my SD cards is seen at the bottom right of the display (e.g., “3500). But when I slightly press the shutter button, that number changes to “L 53”. I read the camera manual again & again but can’t seem to figure out what this means.

Can someone please educate me? Thanks!

Ok, I got a clue: the “L 54” number is only shown when I select a continuous shooting mode, but the number doesn’t change if I select 2, 5, 9, or 25 fps. If I select “Single Drive Mode,” no number is shown when I slightly press the shutter.

Maybe the number shows how many pictures the internal buffer can hold? When I take a burst of pictures for a few seconds, the numbers goes down from originally 54 to zero and then it stops taking pictures.
