rtai Posted November 30 Share #101 Posted November 30 Advertisement (gone after registration) I updated my M11M to v2.6. I don’t know if this is firmware related or just coincidence. Lately I have been photographing buildings with perspective control and live view is very handy for that. After a series of shots the live view would black out and pressing any of the rear buttons will do nothing. I can revive it by turning the camera on/off, or pressing the shutter. But that one shot to wake the camera up would be seriously overexposed.
Advertisement Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Hi rtai, Take a look here New Leica M11 Firmware v.2.6.0 (M11 / M11-P / M11-D / M11 Monochrom) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Problem 1: The camera does not retain the date in memory. Problem 2: After standby, the camera takes at least 3 seconds to become operational again, which is too long. Also, after powering off, the last used profile is not retained: the camera reverts to the default profile and I need to select the correct one again. I'm also having the problem with my M11-P that the date and time aren't being saved. The firmware is up to date (2.6.0), the battery is fully charged, and a reset didn't help. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try? Edited December 1 by lunephoto

elmars Posted December 1 Share #104 Posted December 1 Did You try a full reset of the camera?

Maybe it's time to do it to clear things up.
MinRas Posted December 1 Share #106 Posted December 1 (edited) A digital camera is essentially a computer system with its own operating system, drivers, and configuration files. When you perform a reset after a firmware update, it clears the entire configuration registry, which often contains outdated entries, unused values, or settings with changed syntax. Minor updates usually don’t cause issues, but major updates—like the recent 2.6 release—introduce significant system changes, so it’s better to start fresh and remove old configuration data. Personally, I reset the camera after every update. It’s easy enough to export and re-import user profiles, and you never really know what’s been compiled into the new release code. It’s similar to updating a computer operating system: you can install new OS on top of the existing setup, but sooner or later you’ll run into small, annoying problems. lunephoto Posted December 2 Share #107 Posted December 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) I performed a complete reset, but that didn't solve my problem with the clock (incorrect date and time setting). I then contacted Leica in Wetzlar, but they weren't aware of the problem. They asked me to arrange for a camera exchange through my local Leica store in Düsseldorf. The staff at the Leica store also examined the camera very closely, but they couldn't resolve the issue either. The M11-P was replaced with a new one that doesn't have the time/date problem.

Date & Time not saved happened to my M10-D. The camera was sent back and, if I remember correctly, they had to replace a small battery inside. Problem solved. Leon_B. Posted December 2 Author Share #109 Posted December 2 Like @ekindangen reported: it sounds like a problem with the backup battery and will likely need to be repaired in Wetzlar...
