NightPix Posted October 2 Share #1 Posted October 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've seen a number of reviews about this newly released lens. All the reviews I've seen were made with the lens mounted on Lumix cameras, and there are references to in-camera corrections. Revealing my ignorance on such matters, I'm wondering if these corrections will be lost if I mount this lens on my Leica SL2 or SL2s.

Based on my experiences with quite some Panasonic and Sigma lenses on Leica SLx (although no experience with the new Pana 100-500), in-body corrections are included. So I would not be concerned re (absence of) such corrections on Leica SL2/SL2S. I believe that in-camera corrections are part of the L-mount alliance/collaboration. balzani_shots Posted October 31 Share #3 Posted October 31 Hi, What about in body Image Stabilization, does it work ? What about image quality, there aren`t many reviews and all with Lumix bodies, like NightPix said.
NightPix Posted October 31 Author Share #4 Posted October 31 I’ve ordered the lens but it won’t ship until Nov 17. Once I have it in hand I should have the answer to these questions after I take some test shots.

IBIS never works on long lenses for the simple reason that the movement of the sensor would be too large. Long lenses use optical stabilization in the lens, the only exception being the use of rotational stabilization in 5-axis systems. IBIS is intended for lenses up to 90 mm approximately.
