I just acquired an M4-P. I have a Voigtlander 28mm f/1.5 Nokton which I've been using on an M11. I would like to use it on the M4-P. I notice the rear element, with lens at infinity, protrudes slightly more than my 35mm which also protrudes a little but I know to work okay. I never worried about going the other way of course, and using older Leica lenses on my digital M body. I know they all have M mounts but the M4-P was made long before this lens.

The sensor should be the same distance from the mount as the film plane on the film bodies. But on a film camera there is a shutter in front of the film plane which it seems would take up some space.

I just want to make certain there is no chance of damaging anything.

Anyone using this lens on older film bodies?

Thanks.

  • MindsEye changed the title to Voigtlander 28mm f/1.5 Nokton okay with M4-P?
