Although the Valoy I picked up was in excellent shape....in my thinking..... I noticed that the film strip / negative holder on either side has a screw missing. So I took it down to the local hardware store which has just about any screw or bolt or nut etc one would want. But it wasn't to be found. The screw is fine and is a 3.5mm ....not the usual 4mm. Too large for the 2.5 they also carried. So..... I can do without it.

But....interesting to see how some things have come around to being somewhat universal. But in the days these things were made, perhaps that same 'universal size' wasn't a thing and each manufacturer had their own dimensions. So Leitz being made in Germany....was working off of a something that isn't to be had now a days....

You could always consider taking a screw and ask a friendly engineering company if they can help you reproduce it. Either they charge a fortune, or do it as a favour in spare time of an engineer. Or doing a 3-d print of it
