I REPOSTED THIS FROM THE M11 MONOCHROM SITE as it may have a broader audience here. Has anyone had a problem with loss/breakage of the spring in the hot-shoe of the M11 Monochrom? I went out in the field to take some photographs and used a Leica SF-60 flash. I removed the flash and replaced the thumb grip back onto the hotshoe and it was very loose. When I returned home, I realised that the spring in the hotshoe was missing (maybe broken off or detached.) Is there a part number that I could order to replace it? Would it be an easy thing to do or would I have to send it to Leica for repairs? Any ideas of a spare part number that I could order. Thanking you in anticipation

The two metal pins that make the pressure will over time flatten, at least it did for me. I used a little wooden tool I have to bend them up again. You can see them on the two sides of the hot shoe. I asked Leica about this, and the alternative is to send the entire camera in for service, which might make sense for you if you use the hot shoe a lot.

I will be so impressed if they do!

Thank you

Don’t hold your breath…. I am not aware of an independent repair person in SA, normally that would be the best option.
