It'll have to wait till spring, I just bought a "new" Zeiss 35mm f2 lens and this.

Very nice condition M5 50th "Jahre". I wanted a chrome M5 since I went down the rabbit hole and KEH listed this last week. I've already sent it to DAG.

Part of me wants a new film Leica just to be the 1st owner, but I can't justify it owning 2 M6 "Classics", 4 M5's now and M3SS.

I might sell 1 of my black M5's if I decide I need to, that would give me 2 black and the chrome "Jahre", the later the "safe queen"

I'll see what the bank account says in the spring

Nice - My M5 is a black chrome 50 Jahre that DAG serviced around 2012. (He had it over a year before I reminded him - then he finished it quickly!)

I've had DAG service 4 cameras so far this year. The longest he took was 8-10 weeks for my 2nd M6 "Classic" that I bought a few weeks after the 1st in the spring.

I wanted a chrome M5 since I think chrome Leica's just look "right"

I've gone down the Leica Rabbit Hole for sure, but figure get what I want before I retire in 2027 while I'm being forced to work 6 days a week

It's very clean, I wish I had waited on getting the black 1 from KEH.

I sent it to DAG already for a CLA and battery update. I do plan on shooting it, but I'll baby it 😁. I can use the 2nd M5 I got from Tamarkin Leica for $1400 USD as my "beater" Leica, it'll be in the car when I'm off work in case I see something

Now you need to add a film CL as the ideal carry-around companion to the M5! I got a CL in about 1980 and it's what sold me on the spot meter design of the M5. It's great with the standard 40 mm Summicron C or the VC 40 1.4 lens. Of course, then you need to add a Minolta CLE for auto exposure, and then... or just go ahead and get the reissue M6 so you won't have the funds to to go after these relics.

I have been tempted to get the film CL or CLE. I actually think the later would be better because supposedly the 28mm framelines are easier to see than the .72 M6 or MP.

It'll have to wait till March though before I buy anything else. I owe myself money now and if I get a decent profit sharing check from work (I cleared $6K USD last year from Ford/UAW) if I don't throw 1/2 towards paying off my car loan look at a new M6 or MP.

If I do 1/2 I might look for a nice used MP. I wish I could get this 1 now

I've had that puppy in "my cart" twice since it came in and talked myself out of it each time. I got a nice M6 Classic from them in the spring that's still waiting for me to get a roll of film through it, I've got a 2nd M6 as primary so do I really need another 1?
