Hello everyone!

I am Joe Root. I recently joined the forum for taking suggestions on the best camera for photography. My budget is flexible so please recommend me best one.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Welcome Joe.

To help, we would need to know what your photography background is, and which aspect of photography interests you most?

Portraiture?

Street?

Landscape?

Sports?

Wildlife on safari?

Something else?

Leica has different types of cameras, all for different types of users, all are the best. the S for pros and advanced amateurs  who want the best quality and don’t mind bulk and weight, the SL for pro and advanced amateur use. Both presuppose photographic skills. The there is the Q series and Digilux 8 for general and travel use and easier to master. It is not you have but how you use it.

Apparently the smart money says the best system to buy into now for those starting from scratch is Nikon. Since I don’t need to keep up with all the current releases and Nikon is about the only brand I’ve never used for more than a few minutes, I can only relay that and not really comment on it.

For work I always use the best tool for the job, don’t really care who makes it. For fun, I like Leica. I don’t think the results are really any different to any other quality make but nothing else feels like a Leica. Beyond that, whatever model feels right in your hands.
