dakotagarrett Posted August 22 Share #1 Posted August 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello! New to the forum and I’m reaching out to see if anybody experienced a issue in having. I recently purchased a m3 and when I was inspecting it I noticed the rangefinder was out of alignment! The guy didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and said all his pictures were coming out fine. Having adjusted a few of my previous cameras I thought no problem. I put on my dr 5cm aligned the rangefinder and shot a roll, everything came back out of focus. So I triple checked that the rangefinder and lens matched up on all of the distance markers on the lens. normally I would assume that the problem is with the lens but I think it’s strange that he had been getting in focus results with the rangefinder way out of alignment at infinity. I would really appreciate any ideas, as I’ve called Leica and there no longer taking in m3s

dakotagarrett Posted August 22 Author Share #3 Posted August 22 Are there any you suggest? I found a few through other forums and they either sent me to Leica USA or were unresponsive, I would love to try and figure this out without having to send it in but that definitely may end up happening. thanks for the response
dakotagarrett Posted August 23 Author Share #4 Posted August 23 Ok update after completing disassembling the lens I found that someone has been in here before and incorrectly placed a washer. After reassembly the lens is focusing to infinite perfectly on my digital camera.
