jaapv Posted August 3 Share #21 Posted August 3 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe but it wastes considerable time; in my case I would lose shots. And it is pretty annoying. I have a number of M lenses which I use with each their own adapter like L lenses. I hate fiddling. I only use third party adapters for R lenses like the Fisheye Elmarit

I use the leica adapter with my leica lenses due to the 6 bit coding, and the none leica ones with the novoflex, cause eitherway i still need to select a lens for ibis to work correctly. Thought that by selecting manually the lens it will give you those corrections. NOPE Leica activates this setting if it can verify that it is the actual lens. This is with the R-Rom adapter and the Leica M adapter. Many lenses don't need it, but some lenses don't have linear corrections. A non-Leica adapter activates IBIS and adds metadata, but you still need to apply corrections in post.

Correct, it will have them in the metadata, and Lightroom will do the correction. You can make a simple test if you have some lenses that need it.
