satijntje Posted July 30 Share #1 Posted July 30 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Leica friends. Who knows what the π means on the APO Summicron 90mm lens? Are they priced higher as „normal“ lenses? Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Carlos cruz Posted July 30 Share #2 Posted July 30 Not very π looking, more like corrupted lambda, is that m lens? Colour doesn’t look like typical Leica palette. Searching for λ or π lenses don’t give any sensible answers.

jgeenen Posted July 30 Share #4 Posted July 30 The lens type code (11885) indicates a standard chrome APO-Summicron, the serial number matches to a chrome production run in 2002. The "Red Dot Leica Pocket Book 9th Edition" does not mention a special edition with a blue marking. The shape of the sign could be anything from a modern interpretation of "Pi" to similar modern interpretations of Cyrillic "P" or "L", even stylish variants of Chinese symbols might be possible. May be it is just a custom engraving?
