I've switched from a Sigma FP to an SL2-S and can use the same lenses. Likewise I had a CL for a couple of years. On my M10 I'm using M mount lenses I bought in 1990. I agree. Stay in the same system of lenses [M or L].

The Z6 is overall the better Performer. Colors on Nikon are more true to real life - whether you like that or not is a matter of Taste. AF is much better. Metering is very reliable. Flip screen vs fixed screen is much better. The Z lenses are wonderful. The body is, as you say, is more Plasticky. But it is also more ergonomic which should help arthritic hands. But I would go with a Z6III today due to EVF and AF improvements.
