timbo_bobcat Posted July 8 Share #1 Posted July 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I dropped my Q3 lens hood onto a hard floor, it seemed fine but when I thread it onto the lens it is obviously bent slightly, because it is easy or stiff to screw on and off at different points while I turn it. Does anyone have an easy fix for this? Cheers
Advertisement Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hi timbo_bobcat, Take a look here Q3 lens hood bent slightly. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JohnW. Posted July 8 Share #2 Posted July 8 I would try using a lens vise to straighten the threads, (google 'lens vise' for details).
Cogito Posted July 8 Share #3 Posted July 8 I’d bite the bullet and get a replacement lens hood, even if it’s a cheap aftermarket one, no sense on damaging the threads on your lens. At least you didn’t drop the camera.
