Monec Posted July 8 Share #1 Posted July 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear community, I need advice. I recently purchased a black M9 camera and, as soon as I started using it, after a few shots, the camera gave me a “shutter fault” error. Looking online, I found some troubleshooting to do, and, in the end, by replacing the SD card, the camera started working again. The SD that caused the problem is a Lexar Pro SDHC II 32Gb 2000x 300mb/s. The SD with which the camera started working again is a Sony SDHC I 16Gb 94mb/s. Online, there’s a lot of information related to the speed of the SD, and I was thinking the problem was solved. The day after, during a session, the shutter fault error occurred again. This time, just removing the battery and SD resolved the problem. Annoying (remove the half body cover…) but quick. I sent an email to Leica, but the answer I got was something like “send us the camera and we’ll look into it”. I also asked which SD I should use, but got no good answer. What do you suggest overall? Any experience with this error? Note: I have the warranty of the shop that sold me the camera and the Leica warranty on the shutter that was replaced on 01/

pedaes Posted July 8 Share #3 Posted July 8 Like jaapv said. No other option. The M9 does not work well with latest SD cards, and needs a 'slow' card. Good advice here about SD cards and how to use M9 generally.https://www.overgaard.dk/leica-M9-digital-rangefinder-camera.html
Monec Posted July 8 Author Share #4 Posted July 8 Thank you both. I’m still trying to ensure there’s a problem and it’s not just the wrong SD
