thierry40 Posted June 30 Share #1 Posted June 30 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Good day all, recently I spotted some strange dark spots more or less visible on pictures taken with my summaron 28. On the sky mostly, I thought these could be birds far far out but these « birds » were strangely repeated on the next shots. nothing I can’t delete on LR easily but still it is repetitive and various spots I took pictures of my white ceiling with different lenses, only the summaron shows the dots/round shadows so it’s a priori not the sensor but the lens. I tried wipe gently the outside lenses with a clean Leica white rag… dust still there, moved a bit but still there. I believe these are extremely small parcels on that very small lens and they maybe stuck due to static electricity… also the access to the lens is not that easy with the large fingers 😉 anyone had such experience and could guide me towards a solution eventually ? thanks in advance for beginner tip !😀 Edited June 30 by thierry40
Advertisement Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Hi thierry40, Take a look here 28 summaron dust. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Vanillasludge Posted July 1 Share #2 Posted July 1 Particles in or on the lens will not project a visible image, just cause a reduction in contrast. Dust on your sensor? (If it’s digital) The nature of a wide angle lens with small aperture is that sensor dust will be more visible. 1
farnz Posted July 1 Share #3 Posted July 1 Also the smaller aperture (larger f-number) you use the more obvious dust spots on the sensor will be. Many dust spots on a sensor are easily cleaned with a blower and more resistant spots can be removed with one of a large commercially available array of sensor cleaners.
