wattsy Posted May 28 Share #1  Posted May 28 Advertisement (gone after registration) On a whim last week I left my house at around 7pm and decided to drive overnight the 490 miles to Argyll and Bute. It was actually an enjoyable driving experience and I saw almost no other cars (there were a few lorries) between Penrith and my eventual destination north of Oban. There was thick cloud as dawn broke but, by the time I had reached Connel, it was one of those glorious mornings that memories are made of. Photos taken with Leica SL2-S and 35mm Summilux-M ASPH (2011). The last photo with the SL2-S and Lumix 100mm F2.8 Macro.  Connel. Welcome, dear visitor! The Chequered Skipper butterfly (Carterocephalus palaemon), which became extinct in England in 1976 (later reintroduced, not entirely successfully, in 2018).
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  My destination was Glasdrum Wood but the view over the loch was pretty fine.   This was what I had largely come to see.
