The Taipei 101 (having 101 stories) was the tallest building in the world until the Burj Khalifa was opened.

Designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes, one of its features is a 660 ton steel pendulum almost at the top to serve as a mass damper. It is an engineering masterpiece.
