Trankster Posted May 16 Share #1 Posted May 16 Advertisement (gone after registration) Be careful if you purchase a video course from Cole's Classroom. Check their ratings online first. My unhappy experience: I purchsed a Lightroom editing video course for $7 (the course was very good), but unknowingly I was enrolling in an ongoing membership. After a 10 day "free" membership, charges of $49 per month were made to my credit card that was originally used for the $7 initial purchase. Unfortunately, I did not notice the monthly charges until the 4th month. When I complained repeadedly, the so called customer service person said that Cole agreed to refund 2 month's of my membership fee which was an exception to their one month refund policy. The representative also commented that the "fine print" in the online order screen for my purchase stated that I was signing up for the membership. Bottom line, I do not recommend this company for misleading purchase practices. Buyer beware. 3
Advertisement Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Hi Trankster, Take a look here Cole's Classroom Scam. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted May 18 Share #2 Posted May 18 It seems like a very shady business practice, bad luck stumbling across that course. But even $7 seems a lot considering all the free Adobe and YouTube videos on 'how to use Lightroom'. It's easier to learn as you go in any case, think of what you want to do then Google for the Adobe video or transcript about it. Very few photographers know everything about their software, with Lightroom or Photoshop you only need to understand the bits that are important to your photography. For a general overview a book is a good idea, but for many people they'll get halfway through and realise the more advanced things being discussed will have no relevance to them.

Any others I have ever watched have been different but never better. They can be downloaded for quick reference if you need a refresher on a specific adjustment.
