Without demanding a warranty what do people think of this? The sofort strap has a relatively thin nylon weave attachment designed to go under a smooth bar when connected to a lightweight camera. The Q3 has standard quite sharp looking eyelets and weighs considerably more.

Anyone tried it successfully or unsuccessfully? Many of the purchasable ones have ring connections but no leather disc. Realise I can and may just buy the disc separately.

I would not trust the Sofort, but depending on the material we are probably overthinking.

Not sure if available for the Q3, but i find the Leica Fingerloop very useful and very easy to slide in, faster than a writs strap.

I have one of Luigi's woven wrist straps (called 'Silky') on my Q3 43, which has a leather protector between the split ring and the body. Does the job.

I occasionally check the lugs on all my cameras with straps: with different metals of different hardness there's always a risk of wear. But I don't expect such problems with modern materials.

My Q3 43 spends much of its time in a bag, coming out on the wrist strap when I'm taking photos, when it is normally in a hand as well. I rarely let it swing except when I'm doing something that needs two hands.

Edit. My grandchildren always want to use my Q3 43, but they are all now trained to slip their hands through the wrist strap as well.

I’ve never used a Sofort strap but I think it really depends on how you use the camera.  My Q3 43 is either in a bag or in my hand and I personally prefer to use as little strap as possible to guard against an accidental jostle and loss of grip.  I use the Op/Tech 3/8” quick disconnect loop with either a wrist strap or finger cuff.  This configuration has a recommended weight load of 2.5lbs and a tensile strength of 44lbs, so I feel safe enough.  I do let the camera dangle occasionally if I need the use of both hands.
