Hi!

I have lost the adapter that you switch into the charger to adapt to foreign plugs (see picture). It definitely seems like it is not Leica specific but I cannot find any replacement. I have seen on a very old thread you could find this piece on Ebay, but no luck. By chance anyone would have a clue where to buy this part online ? Thanks

Might be easier and cheaper to replace the charger.  I purchased a USB charger from eBay a couple of years ago and it charges my M8 batteries (both original and third party) without problem.

Evidently I bought that charger in 2007 for about $135 dollars (according to my B&H history).  I no longer have it or the M8 but this post prompted me to look at what is available now.  As suggested, a new charger is probably the best way to go in 2025 and at least in the US, on Amazon, a charger for the M8 14464 BP-SCL1  battery sells for just under $10.  Hope you have luck in finding the missing part, I would likely look for it also in order to have the original unit but if you need a functional charger to use the camera, a 3rd party knock off from Amazon should work.

Hello,

my M8-charger has disappeared, but I still have the UK-plug left. You can have it and use it with a travel-adaptor.

You can also look at www.trade-shop-online.de. See "Ladegeräte" and search for "Leica M9". You will find a new charger for 16€. I purchased several times there, and I was quite content.

You can also look at the Leica-homepage. Choose "Preowned", and you will find at least two M8/M9-chargers in the version with cable as sold with the M9. For me that was the more convenient version compared with the M8-version. They are offered for 120€, which was the last price that Leica charged until 2024.

Bonne chance!

Salut Michael

Bon jour,

another proposal: Contact the manufacturer (www.ansmann.de) They provide lots of chargers, and Im sure that any of their plugin-chargers uses the same plugs as the M8-charger did.

Salut michael
