Which one is it? The 90 apo ultron? Do you have a bit more images with the lens on it. Would be great. Currently I think about a second lens. 50mm color skopar, 75mm Nokton or one of the 90mm Voigtlander.

It is the Apo Lanthar 50/ 3.5 Type II in Silver.

Damn, I have to confess. I said I don’t like the safari and it’s ugly. But I bought it. It feels and looks better than glossy black.

Ugly?  In person or on a computer screen?  The reason I ask is this has happened to me several times, seeing a new release, reading an article or evaluation online and thinking it is not for me but in person the camera or lens looked much nicer and then liking it.  After reading and seeing images of the D Lux 7 Bathing Ape I thought someone lost their mind at Leica, seeing it at a Leica store it was rather cool.  Congratulations on your purchase and having good taste 🙂

On screen it’s ugly, in person it’s much nicer. I think the brass top plays a vital role here

Can’t resist to the green… I feel this darker and nicer than the M10

I’ve owned both the aluminium black and the brass Safari.

I much prefer the brass. There’s an unquantifiable ‘betterness’ about it. To me at least. YMMV of course.

Two of my three lenses are brass with the heaviest being the 11811 version of the Apo 50 Summicron which weighs 440g with the hood.

Mount that on the Safari and it’s a pretty dense package!

Have you owned the Black paint M11? I am torn between that or the safari. I plan to trade in my Silver M11 for either or those two. I too prefer brass body.

I have 1 silver lens and 1 black lens. Which do you guys prefer? I've never seen the Safari. The black paint only once but I never really played with it since I was looking

for a second lens at that time. Thank you

I own m10-r black paint, and owned m11 glossy black and sold it for safari.

I think personally m10-r bp is better looking than m11 glossy black. I got m11-p safari only because it looks different.

Hi can you post a side by side pic of your M10R BP and the safari please if it's okay. Thanks!

If I were in your shoes, I would prefer the Safari.

I sold my M10R BP and bought an M11 Safari.

The BP looks really great, BUT you will see every fingerprint and every microscratch.

Another point to consider: M11 BP has only the smaller internal memory of 64 GB and, as far as I know, does not provide content credentials.

Safari looks great too (of course subjective 😉).

I have an M10-P Safari, love it, love the look and the brassing.

When I upgraded to M11-P, I went with the Silver rather than the black, I preferred the heft of the silver over the black.

I'd love an M11-PSafari, but.......just can't justify it at this point.

Then again, I can't justify any of this!

Well.  It seems a Safari with black lens is no go for me.  Love Safari + Silver lens, so-so on Safari+Safari lens.

I felt the same, and have slowly brought it exchanged silver lenses. But i have two blacks that i love and they never came out in silver..and i actually like the black now, or it doesn’t worry me like i thought, especially from behind as the rear of the safari is all black accents.

as a new M11 safari owner can i ask you how long it took for the brassing on your M10 safari to start showing? Reason i ask is i’ve just brought a leica green half leather case. The retailer was suggesting i should just leave it and let the brassing begin! But i’m in that honeymoon period where i like its pristine look!

Yes but that changed shortly after it went up. For a few hours there wasn’t a differential.

Mine is ordered 👍🏻

Hey i only found out last week that so far only 3 Safaris have sold in NZ, so 1 other than you and me. Going to make it a rare collectable item in years to come.
