I believe the residue was from the gel. It was brand new and straight out of the package. I bought from BH, so I’m pretty sure it was legit. jaapv Posted May 18 Share #102 Posted May 18 Well, I always try things like that out on an old filter - you would have noticed the problem -if there- and cleaned it with Isopropyl Alcohol. If it smeared afterwards it would have been proof that the sensor had microdroplets of oily substance instead of dust that smeared and you could have removed the smears with Smear-Away or Eclipse wet cleaning.
