Correct, Jaap. Stefan Daniel told us that in Dublin in 2022. The OVF will always be there. M=Messsucher was how Stefan put it. However it should be possible to have some form of digital rangefinder. Personally, even with my eye issues, I still find an optical rangefinder easier to use than having just focus peaking. Others don't agree. The important thing will be to allow customers to use the huge number of legacy lenses out there.

Some of the issues mentioned here about SSDs, storing digital images and having redundancy and back up storage for digital image archives are general for digital photography and are not unique to any particular type of digital Leica M camera. We have all bought into these digital concepts and if we want to preserve images for the future we have to make sure that we address the issues surrounding them.
