Advertisement Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Hi AllenMac, Take a look here I can’t find the model number. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted March 30 Share #2 Posted March 30 The catalog number should be engraved, but unpainted (and thus sometimes hard to see - it will be black-on-black or silver-on-silver) - and on the base ring (i.e. the ring that carries the large yellow or red "35/35" and DoF scale) - and on the bottom of that ring when mounted (i.e. opposite the focus and aperture index marks) APO-Summicron-M-ASPH should be 11699 The non-APO Summicron-M ASPH has had many different numbers over its life: - 11879-black - 11882-silver - 11608-silver (S) - 11609-titan - 11611-black - 11616-LHSAchrom - 11696-gray - 11619-chrome (S) . LLC - 155

luigi bertolotti Posted March 30 Share #4 Posted March 30 My one, chrome - asph - 3996721 also does not have the code engraved ; "LENS MADE IN GERMANY" in exactly the same position as yours.
adan Posted March 30 Share #5 Posted March 30 Intriguing. Although Leica hs been known for - inconsistencies - in engravings. Here is a "Made-in-Portugal" 35 f/2 ASPH (i.e. from around 2020±) - that includes the catalog number (maybe only for the Portugese lenses) of 11708. Click the lens image to cycle through views until the engraving is visible. https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/product/leica-35mm-f2-summicron-m-asph-11708-made-in-portugal
