Wwin Posted March 25 Share #1 Posted March 25 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love to hear your thoughts if a Leica Q camera is great to use on weddings and events. I now using a Fujifilm XT-5 and X-pro 3 and maybe you know already that Fujifilm is not the best in autofocus What i do love about these two body's is that they are small and not heavy to use. My shoulders love that part I know Leica since last summer, I own a Leica M body and fell in love with Leica. The colors are amazing! That's why I'm looking at Leica with autofocus cameras to replace my Fuji cameras. The Leica Q series attracts me because of the rangefinder style and the compactness of the camera. The Leica SL range is bigger, with bigger lenses and that's why they are not my number 1 to look at. But.....Is the Leica Q serie faster in there autofocus and accurate vs Fujifilm? How is the hit rate? Is there someone in this group who use the Q series for weddings and events? Love to hear from you!

keithlaban.co.uk Posted March 25 Share #2 Posted March 25 You'd ideally need plenty of hardware backup given service times.

FlashGordonPhotography Posted March 29 Share #4 Posted March 29 I'm retired from weddings now but.... I have an XT-5 (no XPro3), Q3, Q3-43 and SL3. I shot my last ever wedding on an XT-5 (and GFX100S) The AF is essentially the same, for wedding use. I don't have issues with the XT-5, especially with the latter firmware. Mind you I shot M's as my only wedding cameras for years, so I'm not demanding in that area. Mostly I finished my wedding carrer with SL's and M's before that. I'd happily shoot the SL3 with some Sigma DGDN primes or the Leica non-APO lenses. You get the sdvantages of twin card slots and interchangeable lenses. The lenses are brilliant, cheap ad tiny. The 90 doubles as a macro. Personally, I'd want something longer than the 43mm. But I have no doubt that if I could jerry rig up a 90mm (something like an A7CR w' Sigma 90 or SL3 with same), I could easily shoot an entire wedding season with Q3's. I shot XPro2's for a season and loved the small size (like the M). People treat you differently with a smaller camera. I really liked how I was basically ignored. I don't think I would shoot only Q3's but if I were still shooting a Q3-43 wouls absolutely be part of my kit just for that reason. Gordon
