Great question @Chris Akin!  Welcome to the forum.  I had an S006 briefly and one other thing I learned was that the shutter speed is not always the one marked on the dial!  If you have an EVF +/- added and you are on an automatic mode, then the marked shutter speed can be adjusted for the EVF, not always the one marked. 

The manuals are long, but there are likely some parts you may find helpful.

I now shoot the S007 and S3 which have displays and no dial - for some reason I just couldn’t get that to work the way I wanted!

If you have exposure compensation set, it will show up on the top display as - or +, as well as in the viewfinder along the bottom.

Yes, but changing the dial to a different shutter speed is less intuitive when it isn't what's marked.  That was my point.
