ktmrider2 Posted March 22 Share #1 Posted March 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) I purchased a Q3 at the end of December, 2024, and have used it for a couple thousand photos while traveling around the world. Now I discover that it freezes up during playback. I hit the play button and the red light comes on and the camera freezes. I can hit the play button numerous times and nothing. It shows the last photo taken and that is it. Additionally, the camera will not turn off. I have to disconnect the battery to get the camera to turn off. Before I send it to Leica, anyone have any other suggestions?

PhotoCruiser Posted March 22 Share #3 Posted March 22 Sorry to hear that First save your Photos on a or two external drives before disaster strikes. Then, as above, try another SD card as the red light means SD card access, if this does not help check for new firmware and load it if possible, also if the one camera has is already new. I think i remember that some had some success leaving the camera for some days without battery. Chris
RQ44 Posted March 22 Share #4 Posted March 22 I would be 100% it is the SD card at fault here. I use the Sandisk 300mbit speed card and it works flawless on a Q3
ktmrider2 Posted March 23 Author Share #5 Posted March 23 I am visiting my sister in Florida so I called the Leica store in Miami for suggestions. They said the SD card and update the firmware. I just drove 140 miles one way to the Leica Store. Sure enough I replaced the Sony Tough SD card with a Sandisk and problem solved. The guys at the store were great.
