I discovered this lens today, which I haven't seen mentioned on the forum here.  It seems to have been released a couple of days ago and has appeared on Leica Rumours and Phillipreeve.net. reviewed by Bastian K.

Leica rumours - https://leicarumors.com/2025/03/03/new-solinon-18mm-f-5-6-asph-lens-for-leica-m-mount.aspx/

Phillipreeve.net - https://phillipreeve.net/blog/review-solinon-18mm-5-6-asph/

As I was looking for an affordable 24mm equivalent lens to use on my M8 I bought one immediately.  I'll report back when I receive and use it.

Please do so, as I would like to have a small 18mm for the m8. So very curious about your findings.

I noticed that this morning.  They were trying to contact me through dpreview as my email address on the shopping app is out of date. I'll ask them about it when they make contact.

The lens arrived two days ago and I took some pictures in shopping mall afterwards.  Impressed by its performance in distortion, vignetting and colour fringing/cast.  ZM 18mm may be better in build quality moreover Solinon 18mm is more compact in size.

The weather has been cloudy and rainy that I only have pictures taken at f/5.6 to share (as M9 does not do well with high ISO).  Should weather get improved in coming days, I would like to try f/8 and or f/11 to get a better feeling about its rendering.

Interesting! It’d be great if it worked on the Pixii without any color shift in the corners. That camera needs a good 28mm equivalent lens.

chatted with the seller and he said Solinon 18mm has been designed with digital sensor in mind so without color shift.  I use it with M9 ( old sensor technology since 2009 ) without color shift and I bet the same for Pixii.

I ordered mine last Fri after reading the reviews, it showed up on Mon. night from HK only 3 days. Very small and light works well, I have only used it on my Sigma fp will post some test shots a little later tonight it's the same lens design as the Leica 18mm f 3.8 but it has two ASPH elements instead of one on the Leica lens.
