Sergey Golovkin Posted March 1 Share #1 Posted March 1 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I got my Leica MP a month ago and was so excited that I didn't notice that the box was from a different camera. The white box was sealed with the serial number and model, all correct and stated that it was a black Leica MP, I opened it myself and inside was the gray camera box, also with the same stickers of the Leica MP serial number and model code, but on this box the picture and text say that it is a silver Leica M-A. I only noticed this today. Also, all the paperwork inside the box is from this specific camera, and all the serial numbers on the stickers are the same. Only the box is from a different camera. Someone in Wetzlar, I guess, mixed up the boxes, another "uniqueness" in the history of a hundred-year-old brand. Maybe someone has had this happen and would like to share their story. Leica seems to have this n the past Yes serial number is the same, on camera and all boxes and documents, only grey box is from M-A, also I registered the camera on the Leica website and it shows MP black. I ordered the camera from the official dealer and date on all stickers where number and model of the camera are is later then I placed the order. If you want to sell it, just list it as a special factory edition. Double or even triple the price and youll be able to retire. But enjoy it. Things like this make cameras more fun. Its sort of like "i bought a used camera, and was smart enough to throw the film inside it away"

Labeled. As I know Leica always labels there boxes. But usually the box has the picture of actual camera and check mark near right model written on the side. So I assume that just the boxes was taken from M-A somehow and labeled with MP sticker with model and serial numbers
