PNWRick Posted March 1 Share #1 Posted March 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm a new Leica user. Just purchased a Q3 43. I have it setup DNG only. However, the JPG settings affect the histogram. How do you set up the Q3 to make sure you're getting the greatest dynamic range from your raw files? jaapv Posted March 1 Share #2 Posted March 1 All Leicas except the M9 Monochrom have a JPG histogram. The way to get maximum DR is to use the existing histogram and watch for clusters at the right hand side.

shopaholic Posted March 2 Share #4 Posted March 2 I had the similar question as OP. Do you think the monochrome JPG’s histogram will better represent the raw file visa color profiles?
jaapv Posted March 2 Share #5 Posted March 2 Could you please clarify the question? A monochrome camera has no colour profiles.
shopaholic Posted March 2 Share #6 Posted March 2 The histogram of “monochrome BW” profile vs histogram of any color profile such in Leica (or any camera) more closely resembles raw data, to help with exposure.
