Was in Egypt for a couple of weeks and just home.

Had one chap ask me.. great camera does it take great photos?  Oh how I laughed. And so did he after we chatted for a while.

An American lass asked me  .. do you love your Leica? I explained to her while I really liked it, I was not in the habit of taking it to cinema or buying it a meal at a restaurant. and I certainly was not taking it to bed.

Anyway, some snaps. This was my wife's holiday idea not mine. We have been a few times to Cairo and down the Nile, but she wanted to go again, especially to the new Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo. GEM, as it is called, has had a soft opening but is till awaiting the arrival of the boy king and his trinkets. Another thing that got me was the number of people doing what I am told is a TikTok video. That was quite good as a I was able to photograph some people rather than the artefacts. There is now way they can complain as they are in an open space, getting their photos taken. I have not included any of the inside shots but was amazed at the quality of the Q3 images from within tombs at 6400 ISO.

Great photos.

Taking a similar trip and would like to take as little gear as possible. Considering taking the Q3 but wondering if I might miss a longer focal length for some of the larger scale destinations. Would you take the same setup again?

Thanks,

G

With the exception of wildlife (and Egypt is not a wildlife destination) any Q will work well - Remember you can crop like crazy and still get excellent results.
