Jamison Posted March 31 Share #21  Posted March 31 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't overlook the advantage of the Summilux over the Summicron when you shoot closeup for a face. You can make the eyes sharp and the ears go out of focus. You may ask why would anyone want to do that. It's a trick used by headshot photographers for actors to make them look more sensual. We, personally only encouter this look if you are very close to someone's face. So, it's a psychological effect that the model looks more enticing and with more feeling in their look when eyes are sharp and ears are blurred. This was shot with an R 50mm Summilux 11776 at f 1.4 with a digital APS sensor.  Welcome, dear visitor! I went with the v3 in the end, and the integrated hood is much better implemented then the one of the Lux asph, so I am happy with my choice.
