bernstein1234 Posted June 6 Share #221 Posted June 6 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took the lens for a spin and initial opinion is that it is rly sharp where I want it to be in focus. Very unlike what others mention about the softness. Perhaps my M9-P is only 18MP so it doesn’t really expose the flaws much Welcome, dear visitor! Even some black lenses on the M9-P also doesn’t match. Hence I decided silver lenses is the way to go 😆
Ken Abrahams Posted June 7 Share #228 Posted June 7 (edited) Great, I hope you enjoy it @bernstein1234 I like it much better with the hood attached. The most vulnerable part of the lens is the hood lens cap when hood is reversed and mounted backwards on the lens, the hood is very light and a bit of a fiddle to get on and off. I think this on/off actions could also mark the lens with a lot of use. I dont really mind so much as it's a lens and it gets put to work. I cant trust myself however to misplace of lose the cap. Last week I thought I lost my cap for the 135 Telyt. I checked my pockets many times and everywhere else where we were on site. Later I found it in my pocket amazed that I didnt find it when tapping my jeans over and over. Welcome, dear visitor! Yes as you noticed I did not put the hood on as I prefer the smaller profile of the lens without it, and as you pointed out the hood may leave marks on the lens itself. For me I just attach a silver filter and that’s it. Btw is that photo taken with the lens? Nice bokeh and color!

pedaes Posted June 7 Share #231 Posted June 7 (edited) 3 hours ago, Ken Abrahams said: I think this on/off actions could also mark the lens That thought plus the ease with which I could loose it moved me to buy a £10 screw-in hood. Makes lens a bit longer if you have protective filter also. See post#104 pg 6. Edited June 7 by pedaes
Ken Abrahams Posted June 8 Share #232 Posted June 8 The 50 1.4 Reissue fits in nicely with my other lenses for abstract building crops. Lenses such as the Apo Summicron M 50 and 90mm. Also the Apo Telyt M 135, the Apo 90-280 and Summilux's 28 and 35 and believe it or not the Summicron SL 50 Asph, which does a great job. Welcome, dear visitor! S/W Posted June 8 Share #233 Posted June 8 I love this lens, not so sharp like the 1.4/50 Asph und so clinical like the Apo 2.0/50 Apsh, but with chraracter wide open!
