I must disagree about the 35 and 50 Summicrons. The only things that are down-market are the hoods, easily cured fo a few $$ at Amazon. The Panasonics don’t feel cheap in my eyes. In fact I prefer composite barrels as they are as stable, lighter and far less prone to reces of use. Another thing that I dislike is that Leica omits controls on the barrels  like AF switches. But I do admit that, when new, the metal and styling feel far more premium.

Yes, the Panasonic lenses do not look cheap and offer very good value for money. I used the 1,8/50 for a while and was very happy with it. But the Panasonic S Pro and Leica lenses are even better built. I must admit I would not buy the non-apo Leica 35mm and 50mm as the price difference to the Panasonic versions is too high.
