Olaf_ZG Posted February 14 Share #1 Posted February 14 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received another m8. While trying to focus, looking through the finder, I get left to right perfectly aligned, however, I keep on seeing double as up and down are not aligned. note: no lens will “click-in” when mounting it. is this a so-called misalignment? As I bought the camera via a leica store, is this acceptable/repairable or should I ask for refund? thanks. Advertisement Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Hi Olaf_ZG, Take a look here What is this?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LEGEND Posted February 14 Share #2 Posted February 14 This is vertical misalignment. I had this on my Leica MP long time a go. I fixed it my self. Only problem is that you need special tool for that. I also made this tool from one small screwdriver. When you have this then it is not complicated to align the rangefinder patch again. You need to remove red Leica spot because under her is small hole where you with this tool adjust rangefinder patch vertically. On my Leica MP there is no red Leica spot instead there was small screw, t he same is on my Leica M9 Monochrom.
Olaf_ZG Posted February 14 Author Share #3 Posted February 14 Thanks Nikola. Having two left hands, for sure I will not do it myself. Will rethink about keeping or returning the camera…
