It was the saddest day of my life. I just listed by Q3 43 on eBay. If anyone is looking for one, I am selling it with the best accessories you can get.

There is another tread with that same offer. Is your offer maybe overpriced? Maybe the saddest day for the buyer. What is the reason for selling that camera after your trip through Europe? Did it not perform?

See here:

This would be new . . . .

It is unlikely to sell at this price . The accessories may not be wanted. At this price, one would be better off buying new or a used copy from Leica.

Like NYKV was asking, BEFORE you buy or (especially) order a M11,  rent one.  MAKE SURE you are familiar with and are fine with the rangefinder.  Once you head down the rabbit hole with body, lenses, accessories, you want to make sure you're ready for the rangefinder experience because it's completely different.  I would offer a solution - keep your Q3 43 and augment it with a D'lux8 if you only need/want short telephoto. Or buy any system (Leica CL, Sony A7c r..... with  a couple of lenses) and use the 43 for 40-90mm use and the other for beyond that.  Also remember that you're not going to be going above 135 with an M body because it's a bear to keep still beyond that.

Don't be silly, if putting your camera up for sale is the worst day so far........... it will get worse.

I use mpb.com for selling my cameras here in France.

I’ve found them to be quite professional.

Used Q3 43 are currently selling for around €6,200 on their site.

wondering what mpb pays for a Q3 43. went to their website but can’t figure how to get a quote without getting on their spam list. B&H giving $4,000 for a Q3 43 in excellent shape

Just a thought - if you are committed to eBay sale, that's fine.  But if you plan to buy another Leica there is a very well known Leica dealer that pays up to 80% of used retail price on trade ins if you are buying a new Leica.  Considering eBay's nearly 13% fee, and more if you use some of their features, the difference may not be very significant versus your offering price.  One other thing - the shipping price you quoted obviously doesn't include insurance.  You may be surprised how much insurance costs.

It can be hit or miss, but I’ve sold camera gear recently on craigslist (enough to pay for a Q343,) I think old guys are the only ones who still use it, but that’s who might buy a Leica. obviously no shipping and meet in a safe location.

let me suggest, since your Q343 has already depreciated, that you hold onto it and use it a little longer. I nearly sold mine after bumping up against some of the limitations of this camera, but now find I really enjoy using it and have made some great photographs. It’s become the camera I take almost everywhere since I don’t have to figure how to kit it out each time. also, because it isn’t an iphone or a blinged out pro camera, people are more at ease when I ask to take their picture. example: this past weekend I flew to north carolina for recurrent flight training and was packing light, only a carry-on backpack, I would never have brought my sony kit, but it was nothing to add the Q343 in a neoprene case to the backpack. I ended up getting great shots of my flight instructor, another cool guy who owned one of the planes we flew, and an 82 year old gentleman who was working in the hangar on the experimental aircraft he built himself. I had a few hours to kill before my commercial flight home and since I had the Leica with me, I took it downtown. I only got one photo I really like there, but enjoyed the time making it.

The M11 with a 35 Summarit weighs about the same as as the Q3 and may take up less room.
