Leslie22 Posted January 30 Share #1 Posted January 30 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just a quick question after seeing Leica commercials with the "dude" not using a lens hood ..... wondering if many go without the lend hood ?
Advertisement Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hi Leslie22, Take a look here Q3 43 Lens hood yes or no. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Cogito Posted January 30 Share #2 Posted January 30 I've never actually seen a Leica commercial, wouldn't have thought they needed to advertise, (like Lamborghini or Krispy Kreme.) Link please?

Link please? Same here…lots of commercials for stuff with Leica’s in them…never seen a commercial for Leica’s. That said it is proven that lens hoods are definitely a good idea…Leica would not suggest otherwise.
erl Posted January 30 Share #4 Posted January 30 If you are facing into the light and feel the need to shade your eyes, that gives you the answer! Lens hoods only do good. Much image harm CAN happen at times when there is no hood shielding the lens. Would you wear trousers without belt or braces? You know the risk. Patrick NL Posted January 31 Share #6 Posted January 31 Always. It never goes off. Why would you take it off? First protection in case of bumps, rain, etc.
MikeD70 Posted January 31 Share #7 Posted January 31 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hood on, it came with one for a reason, and as stated above, it does only good.
Cogito Posted January 31 Share #8 Posted January 31 ... unless you're using lens flare aesthetically, see JJ Abrams, Hiroshi Teshigahara, David Boyd, etc.
mmk60 Posted January 31 Share #9 Posted January 31 Always, a lens hood and a clear filter on. Without them, I feel like walking around naked.
